one tuff cookie

Hello everyone,sorry I have been a bit slack with my blog but I have had a lot of things going on.I have just returned home after a trip to melbourne to see my mum(pictured here with me) who is seriously ill with bowel cancer.It was a tough 3 weeks.My elder sister glenda who is turning 60 this year is mum,s carer while she is at home and she is doing a great job.Mum is not an easy patient let me tell you,she fights you all the way but we win in the end. mum is 91yrs old,and i think she is a remarkable woman.She worked until a heart attack stopped her at the ripe old age of 70.but she soon recovered and she tried to go back to work. but her age and health were against her,so she threw herslelf into gardening,which she loved and had the best rose garden in bendigo.

this will give you all an idea of how we played the game last week,there were alot of teams and to make it interesting,we had to bowl longways and sideways all at the same time.If any person's ball got hit by another then you got to have your shot again....it was a fun night

corporate cup

well the pressure is mounting.Friday night was the 1st game of the corporate cup bowls here in wongan,anyone can enter a team and it runs every Friday night for the next 9 wks.it is alot of fun and our team is called Bobby's' angels(as opposed to charlies angels ).our team leader is of course bob,then we have myself,Lyn and heather who are pictured here.needless to say we one our first game.

another birthday

well what can i say.Alisha is having another birthday tomorrow,she will be 11yrs old.the years are quickly slipping by and it won;t be long before we will be showing baby photos like this and many more at her 18th.She truly is our little angel,and i miss her a lot since we moved to wongan.But there will be holidays through the year where she can come and visit.Easter is not far away...you only have to look in the shops to know that.

flying the flag

well even on a scorcher of a day,it was 43 deg here in Wongan on Australia day.but that didn't stop us from flying or Aussie flag while we downed few beers,swam in the pool and cooked some slammin' Sam's' lamb on the barbie,what a way to celebrate being dinki di.i hope you all had a happy Aussie day as well.

pick on the irish time

Paddy had been drinking at his local Dublin pub all day and most of the night celebrating Ireland's draw with Germany.
Mick the bartender,said,'you'll not be drinking any more tonight,paddy.'
Paddy replied,'okay,Mick,I'll be on my way then.'
Paddy spins around on his stool and steps off.he falls flat on his face.'shite,' he says and pulls himself up on the stool and dusts himself off.he takes a step towards the door and falls flat on his face.he looks to the doorway and thinks to himself that if he can just get to the door and some fresh air he'll be fine.he belly crawls to the door and shimmies up the door frame. he sticks his head outside and takes a deep breath of fresh air,feels much better and takes a step out onto the sidewalk.he falls flat on his face.'I'm fockin' focked,' he says. he can see his house just a few doors down and crawls to the door and shimmies up the door frame, opens the door and shimmies inside. he takes a look up the stairs and says,'no fockin' way.' he crawls up the stairs to his bedroom door and says, 'i can make it to the bed.' he takes a step into the room and falls flat on his face.he says 'fock it,'and falls into bed. the next morning, his wife, Jess,comes to the room carrying a cup of coffee and says, 'get up,paddy.did you have a bit to drink last night?'
paddy says,'i did,Jess.i was fockin' pissed.but how'd you know?'
'mick called.you left your wheelchair at the pub.'

guess who

this is my brother in law Ron,it is Xmas time in Bali 1994,and bob and myself along with other family members were doing a Bali pub crawl when i accidentally knocked my drink over and it spilled onto the person standing below me.i don't know but by the look on Ron's face he was just as surprised(or p....off to be wearing bintang Eu De cologne)when he turned aroundto see it was me that spilled the drink. we were just as surprised to see them too.

muchea xmas tree party

good morning or afternoon everyone wherever you may be.I hope you are all feeling well and happy,there is no other way to be.If you woke up this morning then you should be on top of the world.



this is a photo of Kristy Shelly and Peter,it was taken quite a few years ago when we lived in Muchea.Every year at Xmas time they would hold a Xmas tree party for the kids.Santa would arrive by fire engine,much to the kids delight with presents for them all.And later you had your photo taken with Santa and his little elves.It was a good day all the kids had a ball, and I'm sure there were plenty more tree parties to follow.

this is mitchell,brendons older brother,the helmut he has on is his own,he also has a 4 wheeler motor bike and he knows how to ride it,I watched him on xmas day.

too little for his helmut

this is brendon,he is the youngest son of dave and stacey.we met them through shelly and glen,they are best friends and they all share a house in chittering while they wait to build on their properties.this was xmas day 2006,brendon thought he would get on his bike but he needed a helmut and picked up daves.It was just a bit too heavy and big for him.

This is shelly,before she became beautiful(just joking shells).I can't tell a lie she has always been beautiful,both inside and out.we have two daughters and they are both beautiful,we love them very much.this was taken when we lived in rockingham..........a long time ago,I won't tell you how long 'cause then you will know how old I am....and that's TOP SECRET.

who put thesse flowers in my ear

I think alisha looks unhappy with her new look.Peter and her pa took her to the park in hillarys,and this is what they did...NOT HAPPY JAN..She was 8 mths at the time(I think),boy we had some good times,I really am a proud grandmama.And I still am.I just love to spend time with Alisha whenever I can,and I hope she Feels the same when she comes to visit us.(the oldies).

little miss storyteller

This is our granddaughter Alisha.If I can remember back that far I think she was only 5 or 6 mths old here.I don't know who put the headband on her but it made for a good photo.Here she is telling a story. I have many more of alisha to post on my site,but all in good time.One every now and then.I am going to put them on dvd with music.(i only hope she likes elvis)

Big kids at heart

For Xmas,Shelly bought glen this skateboard ramp set,it was so funny watching him and his mate Dave trying to master it.I could see some injuries happening,but they had alot of fun......if i know glen he probably can jump the ramp by now(practice makes perfect)

this is still xmas day,this time we are at shelly and glens for lunch at their place in chittering. it is good to get together with the family and have a few laughs.Maybe next year we might see our son Peter who was not able to make it.

AN EXCITING DAY

This is Alisha with some of her presents,she really loves xmas,I think she takes after her aunty Shelly.

It was a bit difficult to get to sleep on xmas eve,I think she tried her best to stay up as long as she could,but tiredness kicked in and she had to rest those gorgeous blue eyes of hers and go to bed.

This is the start of a sunset at quinns beach that i took over the xmas period,i hope you like it.It's not quite a Bali sunset, but then again everytime we went to watch the sunset in bali,the cloud came.
